Install a ZHiCK plugin
The easiest way is ZHiCK Hub — it installs, updates and licenses plugins in one click. Everything below is for installing from a downloaded zip without it. Windows, 64-bit hosts.
From the zip
- Unzip everything to a folder, keeping the files together.
- Close Nuke.
- Double-click
Install.batand approve the administrator prompt — the plugin folder lives under Program Files, so Windows asks. - Start Nuke. The node appears under the ZHiCK menu.
By hand
Copy the .ofx.bundle folder from the zip into
C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\ZHiCK\
so that you end up with, for example,
C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\ZHiCK\Z_ColorMatcher.ofx.bundle\Contents\Win64\Z_ColorMatcher.ofx
Then restart Nuke — it scans that folder at startup, so a plugin copied in while Nuke is running will not show up until you restart.
Updating
Install the new version over the old one — the installer replaces the folder. Your licence is stored separately and is not touched.
Uninstalling
Double-click Uninstall.bat from the zip, or delete the plugin's .ofx.bundle folder from the directory above by hand.
If the node does not appear
- Restart Nuke. It only scans for plugins at startup.
- Check the file really is at the path shown above. A common mistake is ending up with
...\ZHiCK\Z_ColorMatcher.ofx.bundle\Z_ColorMatcher.ofx.bundle\because the zip was extracted into an already-named folder. - These are OFX plugins using the General context (some take a second input). Hosts that only implement the Filter context will not list them, and After Effects has no OFX support at all.
- If a faint tiled “ZHiCK STUDIO” watermark appears over the image, the plugin is installed correctly and running — it just has not found a licence file. Activate it in ZHiCK Hub.
